If I had been born one day earlier would I be more independent or just as offbeat?
That sort of thing matters to those of us who seek identity to feel complete
Or maybe we just think it's neat
And I can't stop thinking how all this is ending, how we know that they know it's ending real soon
Been too many seasons since we jumped the shark, a finale is well overdue
And this show's not getting renewed
So I went to take a picture of the things I don't wanna lose
But the sky was a color I couldn't break down into reds, greens, and blues
I hereby relinquish attachment to what people think of the things that I say or the way that I dress
It's all silhouetted up on the cave wall by the fire that burns in my chest
It all looks the same more or less
It's hard to feel good in a world that would rather you vanish completely or slip down the drain
So to make it make sense you let self sabotage rationale dig its hooks in your brain
And never let slip you're in pain
But the thin attractive twenty-somethings can't connect the clues
So I'll swallow my hate and I'll make something great out of reds, greens, and blues
There's a line between reading the room and divination
There's a line between biting your head off and honest self evaluation
There's a line between do what you can and do what you must
But what can I say I was born on the cusp
So I will build castles the size of my fears out of sharpies and post-it note, candles and flame
And in script that makes prominent use of a crucifix write out each one of their names
Sent up to their heavenly claim
All of our lives and our hopes and our failures are one little pixel on some great big screen
And we all do our part to make sure that it shines the right color in every new scene
A beautiful well oiled machine
It's an awful lot of pressure but what else is there to do?
Doesn't have to feel right, and I still dream at night of those reds, greens, and blues

You know I always had trouble putting trust in you
Call it a hunch I call it intuition
I guess it helps the betrayal make more sense to me
Cuz this don't vibe with my pattern recognition
But you know all the secrets
To that cup and ball trick
It's not maleficium
You're just being a dick
So I'm gonna ask you not to drag me down to your level
But I know you don't need proof that I work with the devil
Cuz you're a Witchfinder, a bit kinder than you were yesterday
I know, but I'm getting burned anyway
So now the villagers all come out to watch me go
Hard to feel abandoned with everyone around
Oh throw me into the water bitch I know I'll float
But you might like it better if I drown
See I saw this part coming
It's something like fate
You can try to crush me
All I want is more weight
But I'm gonna ask you not to drag me out to the gallows
But I know you don't need proof that I work in the shadows
Cuz you're a Witchfinder, a bit kinder than you were yesterday
I know, I know
So I'm gonna ask you not to drag me down to your level
But I know you don't need proof that I work with the devil
Baby you're a Witchfinder, a bit kinder than you were yesterday
I know, but I'm getting burned anyway
Evan Diem:
Huh hahaha okay you got me
You found the witch, what'll you do right now?
You think you got the guts to take mine out?
And if you do, oooh boy, fuck around and find out
I will listen from the next plane to hear your babies cry out
With dry mouth, the wells have all dried up
My bad, guess you should've thought of that when I was tied up
On fire, just like your crops is. Oh you got us?
Okay now your fields are all just bugs and crop dust
Yo Shut up, fuck you and your pitch fork, bitch more
I give you a 2/10, and none of your kids will hit four.
Put a pitch to me? I'm bout to clean up like I hit fourth
Grab a stick and start switch-hitting, bitch, this war
I got more curses than a Lasorda torment
Imma send a torrent of leeches on your seeds and into your bed
It gets morbid. I curse you to get a paper cut
On your tongue when you lick the letters to send home you've been saving up
I'm not even the crazy one, there's more witches like me
But baby, umm, you might wanna take this warning not to fight me
Cuz none of you know what's coming from the dimensions that we hold out
They won't need airholes in the casket to let your soul out.
I will curse the fuck out of you. Cold.

CBD gummy worms were melting in the glove box
The bluetooth speaker buzzed menacingly
The outer stations were abandoned and primed for detox
It's just you and me
And I'm an empty stomach cigarette my darlin'
I'll get inside your guts and burn right through
The window's gonna shatter any minute
And there's not a damn thing anyone can do
Goin' out when you can and staying in on most nights
Gotta do something 'bout the ringing in your ears
Listening to podcasts to remember what people sound like
The coast is clear
And I'm a parasitic fungus darlin'
I'll get inside your head and take the wheel
The window's gonna shatter any minute
And there's not a damn thing anyone should feel
I'm a coping mechanism
Sorry if I ruined your plans
And if you need me to take you home
I'll understand
For I am an invasive species darlin'
And we look pretty fuckin dumb tonight
The window's gonna shatter any minute
And maybe all of this will be alright

DROWNED BY A KANGAROO
03:15
|
|||
If I were born in the thirties I woulda been lobotomized
But I guess I wouldn't mind
If it meant I couldn't frown
If catatonic states were nickels I could be a billionaire
But then I guess I'd have to share
And that's where this metaphor breaks down
Oh bring me a bucket of fire ants
I'll spill em all down my shoes
And show me a man
Drunk on the Melbourne coast
Picking a drunken fight
Drowned by a kangaroo
I took my friend to Ikea, we instantly got lost inside
She told me that it had bad vibes
And I couldn't disagree
I dreamt about the giant monster coming to destroy us all
But maybe that's an early call
Cuz really it could be anything
Oh bring me a stovetop of boiling frogs
I'll scoop em out, set em free
And someday I'll find
A place in my brain where I'm safe
And when it comes crashing down
That's where I wanna be
Head of a vampire
Head of a skunk
We're gonna tear this ego down
Chunk by bloody chunk
Head of an avelanche
Dripping with sweat
These are the things about yourself
You try to forget
Oh bring me the head of Charlie Brown
Wrapped in the Saturday news
I'll be asleep
On this pile of English moss
To dream of my ideal self
Drowned by a kangaroo

We were almost almost there
As the crow flies
This is an ocean of regrets
At low tide
I just don't wanna live on a server
And every time I write I think I get a little further
Down a path I cannot understand
This is honey water
In a cast iron pan
(I am the mask and its wearer
A corridor between two chambers
The curse and its bearer)
{Clearly, clearly he is not doing his best}

Insectile Promenade
03:26
|
|||
Enter the court
Beyond the influence of dreams
Where nothing's what it seems
And everything's okay
Down on your knees
I said down on your filthy goddamn knees
You've entered the presence of royalty
So I hope you planned to stay
For I am the bug princess
My insektoid children gather 'neath my throne
And I am the soul witness
That the views and opinions expressed herein belong to no one
And so it seems
The earth has been inoculated
With pockets of high strangeness
That have been allowed to bloom
And so manifest
Bizarre phenomena across the land
The nightmares of the common man
Are finally coming true
And so we are witnessing
The psychogenic infestation of this plane
And I am the oracle
Of such magnificent visions as these
And so in the name of new life
Under the glorious sign of the slug
We welcome a change of a chemical nature
That of honey water into mead

[Song for my shadow]
Sometimes I feel like my shadow needs a hug
She's got it in her head she isn't good enough
The way she haunts me I think she really wants me to stay
In the light I know she'll always be right there
But in the dark it's like she could be anywhere
She's awful quiet and I don't quite buy it when she says:
"I'm afraid of getting better
What if I lose who I am?
What if everything I love is a hologram?"
I don't know what to say to that
I'm just like "yeah that sure would stink"
I just hope she knows she's not as powerless as she thinks
As she thinks
[Moon Behind a Cloud]
You've never been one for introspection
I've never been very good in crowds
You opened your heart to get my attention
But it was hidden like the moon behind a cloud
There's a non-zero chance
That we will make the same mistakes again
There's a non-zero chance
That I love you anyway
There's a fire burning in my heart forever
And it'll never go out
I don't really go out
[Little Red Box with The Answer Inside]
And I've seen something clandestine
In the inner world's perfection
To explain the mystery is to love the mystery less
I know the pits of despair may destroy me
Until I am illuminated
She holds out her hand to light up the path
And I've seen dysfunction
In the face of lava spilling down the hillside
Did you see it too?
For you have experienced
An embryonic state of the universe
And you have experienced
The beautiful awakening of truth
And you have seen
The undivided mission of demagogues
And the wrath of an unconscious mind
Many unconscious minds
(For nothing comes of anything
But novelty and Early Spring
Nothing comes of anything
But clarity and Early Spring
Nothing comes of anything
But you.)

Pay Them No Mind
05:27
|
|||
So what do you think will happen when the figure out
What you're all about
And what you really want?
And what do you think they'll do then when they realize
Right before their eyes
What a fraud you are?
And when the dreaded masks come off at last
What do you think they'll do next?
They'll get into their cars
And stare for a while
Turn on their VCRs
And give you their smile
They'll make you feel small
Feel like nothing at all
Then be on their way
To do it again
Pay them no mind
So when do you think you're gonna stop being OK
With the funny way
That you like to be?
And when that day comes will you have a panic attack
And get back on track
In a week or three?
And when a sudden shift in you occurs
Can you guess their next move?
They'll get into their cars
Turn up the AC
And leave you behind
Selfish and free
But when they roll the dice
You'll move your mice
And give em a song
So no one gets hurt
Pay them no mind
(I lost my depth perception)
and you may experience
an aversion to certain levels of light
and you may experience
audden ejections from dreams
and you may feel
as though the people around you are plotting your demise
pay these feeling no mind
(She's living under water
She's living honey water)
and you may experience
an inability to speak
and you may experience
two separate body temperatures at once
and you may begin to feel
as though you understand
the meanings of the markings that have begun to appear on your skin
and we again must urge you to pay these meanings no mind
(It'll all come down the wire
It'll all burn in the fire)
and you may encounter
a weaker version of your self
and you may encounter
someone determined to destroy you
and the things you will experience
may destroy this doppelganger
but you will escape
and exact your revenge!
(In the end)
What are you afraid of?
You can live your life like you need it to be
What are you afraid of?
You don't have to live so hypothetically
Spare me your excuses
You feel so powerless you feel so small
Spare me your excuses
If you could save yourself you coulda saved em all
Train coming
You just wanna be free
Train coming
You're jumping under your seat
It is but a projection.
Pay it no mind.
It is for your protection.
Pay it no mind.

{What are you doing?
I'm in command of this ship now}
{My dad was sweepin' floors in a nitroglycerin plant during the war}
{Not from the Bible! The Bible says that Christ suffered once!}
In the third wave we called them heat-slugs. They left behind a thin trail of magma-like ooze. As it cooled to earth temperatures it biodegraded into something unspeakable. Then came the spire. Then worms. Then we woke up with new tools we had no idea how to utilize.
{It doesn't have to exist if I shut my eyes. If I shut my eyes it all disappears. If I wish hard enough I can wish it all away.}
{Light is a force unto itself. It is a positive force.}
Is anyone happy? Look around you. What's everyone doing. I'm not proud of what I did. But I don't regret it. Not for an instant. What was lost was necessary for the progression of what was written. The cut worm forgives the plow. What else is there to do?
(And I love my Lord Jesus above anything)

you can bathe in healing waters when you want to
you can eat your fill of berries off the vine
anything you need can be accommodated
to help clear your mind
in a lighthouse at the edge of the multiverse
the Puzzle Space is vast and non-euclidean
each who enter will perceive a different way
we each have a task we must perform with diligence
and yours begins today
in a lighthouse at the edge of the multiverse
this is not purgatory
it's not the astral plane
it's not some Cartoon Honeymoon
or somewhere in your brain
you are to be a Cosmic Story teller
your visions weren't for nothing my dear
your songs will help to weave a holy tapestry
broadcast for all to hear!
from a lighthouse at the edge of the multiverse!
in a lighthouse at the edge of the multiverse
in a lighthouse at the edge of the multiverse
in a lighthouse at the edge of the multiverse
in a lighthouse at the edge of the multiverse
in a lighthouse at the edge of the multiverse
